Excellent conductivity and minimal voltage loss
With a low resistance of 0.035 Ω/m, the cable is a very good conductor. This is due to the 2.5 mm thick metal core. This good conduction means that over long distances, there is very little voltage loss, ensuring that the entire horse fence remains well electrified.
Durable and safe design
The metal core is encased with a very UV and crack-resistant plastic coating, which brings the total diameter of the cable to 7.5 mm. Thanks to this thickness, the smooth surface, and high rigidity, the chances of a horse cutting itself on the cable or becoming entangled are minimal. The electric shock running through this core is guided to the surface by three conductive carbon paths.
Minimal stretch, maximum strength
During production, the metal wire is heavily heated and galvanised, resulting in little stretch. This keeps the cable better tensioned and requires less maintenance than other variants. With a tensile strength of 500 kg, the cable will not break due to falling branches or pushing animals, but it can break if a horse runs full force into it. Ensure that the cable remains well-tensioned and use strong insulators and (corner) posts; otherwise, they may break more easily than the cable, and the horse may drag them along.
Long-lasting safety
The expected lifespan of this cable is 30 years without much attention, while you can rely on a very safe pasture for your horses. The guarantee on this product is 10 years.
Building an Equifence fence
Building a safe Equifence fence is a craft, and it is important that all components are properly matched and installed. The cable is stiff and more difficult to handle than a rope. Therefore, only work with it yourself if you are very handy; otherwise, it is better to leave the construction of your Equifence fence to a professional.
